I have not heard of that study myself Frank. There could well have been. The situation with the UK Hospitals was a major scandal. It was later accidentally replicated in a number of universities that were teaching medicine where the lecturers got the students to bring blood samples from their parents to test against the students to show how blood types were inherited. Again, about 30% of the students could not be the child of the "father". And so such tests were also banned from all universities in the UK.

Wasn't there also a study by the American Association of Blood Banks that found a 20% rate of misatributed paternity?

I was deep into genealogy for a bit. Lots of research, planning a trip to the old country….
Then it hit me. All it takes is one case of paternity fraud at any point in the prior generations and I’m researching the wrong tree.
I quit with genealogy after that.
