I can relate to the "coasting" thing, but not from a relationship perspective. For much of my life I did that when it came to fitness. I'd get skinny fat and out of shape, hit the gym for a few months and get fit again. Then I'd look in the mirror and think "Ok, I'm good now." And I'd stop.
As if the "fitness" was locked in once I'd gotten there.
